Description: The Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association (SVAA) is a private, non-profit organization, which has been serving the emergency medical needs of the community since 1957. The Association is primarily made up of individuals in town volunteering their time to save lives. In addition, SVAA employs full-time paramedics 24 hours a day. The addition of the paramedic service in June of 1997 now means that the residents of Simsbury are provided the most advanced level of service available anywhere in Connecticut.

Description: The Stanley-Whitman House, at 37 High Street, was built by Deacon John Stanley in 1720 and opened as a museum in 1935. The house was named a National Historic Landmark in 1961 and remains one of the best known examples of early New England framed architecture. Recently restored, the house embodies the styles of both the 17th and 18th-centuries.

The Salmon Brook Historical Society was established in 1945, and was fortunate in having many older Granby residents who had a strong sense of history. Their roots were deep in Granby's past, and they saved things that were historically important.
