“Auction of Love” to Benefit Gifts of Love

The community is invited to “Auction of Love” to benefit Gifts of Love on Friday, February 6th from 6:00-9:00pm at the Avon Senior Center. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Gifts of Love, which helps families in the Greater Hartford area.

The event will feature a silent and live auction of “one of a kind” rocking chairs, which have been sponsored and created by local businesses, organizations, schools, churches and artists. Damon Scott, 96.5 TIC FM Radio Host, will be the guest auctioneer. In addition, the event will feature many activities for children to see and do, including: an Amber Alert booth sponsored by the Avon Police Department, Ben & Jerry’s ice Cream, art projects, live entertainment, and a special visit from “Rocky” the Rock Cat. In addition, there will be door prizes, a teacup auction, hors' dourves, beer and wine. A fun event for a wonderful cause!

Founded in 1989, the mission of Gifts of Love is to “help meet the basic needs of individuals and families experiencing temporary financial crisis so that they can achieve or maintain self-sufficiency. Our clients are hard working people who simply can’t make ends meet.” By helping families meet their most basic needs – food on the table, a winter coat, or a bed to sleep in– Gifts of Love enables them to focus on putting their lives back in order and regaining their independence. Gifts of Love annually distributes over $300,000 of goods and services to neighbors in need. For 20 years, Gifts of Love has directly touched the lives of thousands of people in the Greater Hartford area, including residents of over 30 Connecticut towns.
