    Begin Your Genealogy Research with the National Archives The Avon Free Public Library and Avon Historical Society will co-sponsor a genealogy program, "Begin Your Genealogy Research with the National Archives" on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 10:00 am in the Avon Library Community Room.

    Jean Nudd, archivist at the National Archives and Records Administration, Northeast Region in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, will discuss a variety of federal records available at the National Archives and the information needed to use these resources. Examples include~census, military and immigration documents as well as the National Archives' on-line resources. The program will last approximately two hours; light refreshments will be served.
