TOWN OF CANTON, CONNECTICUT
SPECIAL TOWN MEETING

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

A Town Meeting of the electors and those qualified to vote at town meetings in the Town of Canton will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 7PM in the Canton Public Library & Community Center, 40 Dyer Avenue, Canton, Connecticut, for the following purpose:

TO CONSIDER AND TAKE ACTION on a request to approve the acquisition of 140 acres owned by the Estate of Doris Cannon on Cherry Brook Road for a total purchase price of $959,000;

TO CONSIDER AND TAKE ACTION on a request to approve a special appropriation of funds in an amount not to exceed $959,000 ($450,000 of which is State of Connecticut grant funding) for the acquisition of 140 acres located on Cherry Brook Road owned by the Estate of Doris Cannon; and

TO CONSIDER AND TAKE ACTION on a request to authorize the acceptance of $450,000 in grant funding from the State of Connecticut for purposes of assisting in the acquisition of 140 acres located on Cherry Brook Road owned by the Estate of Doris Cannon in accordance with Town Charter §9-3(i)
