    McCain's Pledge

On the issue of illegal immigration,  McCain pledges to secure our borders first and then address how to deal with illegals currently in our country in a way that would not encourage another wave of illegal immigration. That still sounds like amnesty to me, but at least he says he is committed to securing the borders.

Paul Streitz from CT Citizens for Immigration Control has started an new website called http://www.dumpjohnmccain.com/ . He was recently interviewed by Los Angeles talk show host John and Ken. Click here to listen to the interview and why Paul Streitz feels McCain needs to be stopped.

    Re: McCain's Pledge

Many of you who have read my blog and forum post may think that I am a republican. I'm not. I part ways with both the Republicans and the Democrats on a number of issues and am actually registered as unaffiliated. Since the September 11 surprise attacks on our nation, the number one issue for me has been and continues to be national security. I see securing our nations borders as a key element in our national security and thus believe that illegal immigration, the smuggling of humans and contraband across our borders has to be stopped. When the next surprise attack happens on our soil everybody will ask, "How could this happen again"? The terrorist are determine to destroy America and without a doubt they will continue their efforts toward that end. As I stated in a previous blog post, I am not a racist or a bigot as many on the left would like to label anyone who opposes illegal immigration or amnesty for those already here illegally. I simply want to preserve and protect the greatest nation the world has ever known. Why leave the door open to those who want to destroy us? I had aligned myself with the Republican party because the conservative right shared this idea. John McCain does not and as a republican may be able to muster enough support to pass another amnesty bill, where as a democrat president would have a much more difficult time doing the same. That is my opinion.
