Safety Alert: domestic dog attacked by coyotes

Safety Alert:  There have been two separate incidents involving a domestic dog being attacked by coyotes.  These have occurred in the Woodhaven/Oxbow Drive and Kingsbridge neighborhoods.  Residents are urged to be cautious especially around dusk or dawn, and not leave their animals unattended.  The police department and animal control will be  performing extra patrols of those neighborhoods.  The State Department of Environmental Protection is aware of the incidents and is monitoring the number of sightings and/or incidents involving coyotes in the area.

Residents are asked to call the Police Department at 409-4200 or Animal Control at 409-4205 – (leave detailed message) only if the coyotes have been seen stalking, attempted contact or have made contact with a domestic animal.
