State law requires that all dog owners license their dogs with their local town clerk.  The Simsbury Town Clerk's Office is sending out renewal notices to all owners who licensed their dogs during the past 12 months. 
Look for a bright yellow postcard in your mail box.

Please purchase the new license and tag during the month of June so that you will not be subject to a late penalty fee.  A late penalty fee will be incurred as of July first; and the fee will increase the first of every month, thereafter. 

If you have a puppy that is at least 6-months old or you have a dog that is new to town, you are responsible for obtaining a license for the dog. 

The fee to license a male or female dog is $19.00.  The fee to license a neutered male or a spayed female dog is $8.00.  To be given the lower fee, include the neutering or spaying certificate from the vet.

Whether you are licensing a puppy or renewing a license, please remember to include a current rabies vaccination certificate from the vet.
