    Friday Night, 7:00 pm.

    The Farmington Valley Trails Council Annual Meeting will be held at the Avon Senior Center, November 20 . The business meeting will include a year-end report on the FVTC and trail construction, other initiatives and news.  Special presentation by Ruth Hummel and Carl Walters who will talk on the history of the Farmington Canal.

    Saturday, November 21

    9:00 am to 11:00 am. The Avon Town Clerk will have open office hours for the purpose of issuing absentee ballots for the Adjourned election, to resolve the tie vote for a seat on the Avon Town Council.  

    10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Last chance to pick up some great bargains and get a jump on your holiday shopping at the Friends of the Avon Library Holiday Boutique,  Avon Free Public Library, Alsop Community Room.  Best sellers, children's books, fiction and nonfiction, all donated to the Friends for their book sale, all in excellent condition.  

    10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Holiday Fair, Avon Health Center, 652 West Avon Road.  Unique gifts for every occasion from over 20 vendors.  Plus these special attractions:  "Granny's Attic Boutique", Cookies by the Pound Bakery, Awsome Raffle Items and Lunch at "The Whistle Stop Cafe."  Plan for a visit with Santa, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Free Magic Reindeer Food.

    4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.  St. Ann's Church is holding its turkey express on Saturday, November 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Turkey and fixings will be collected to give to the community and families in need in Hartford.

    SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22

    2:00 PM TO 4:30 PM.   The Avon Historical Society and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3272 of Avon, CT will commemorate the 65th anniversary of the opening of Old Farms Convalescent Hospital, (OFCH), on Sunday, November 22, 2009.  Avon Senior Center. Program and reception.

    AND ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24: 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.  Adjourned Election to resolve tie vote for Town Council. Voting will occur in assigned voting districts.
