Litchfield to rip the yellow ribbons from the old oak tree

Yellow RibbonI saw this story this morning and can't believe that the borough of Litchfield, CT has voted to remove the yellow ribbons tied to the oak trees on the town green. Everyone knows that these yellow ribbons serve as reminders for those waiting for the return of a loved one or in support of our military troops who are temporarily unable to come home. Since the US is in the middle of two wars, whether you agree with them or not,  this seems to be a very unpatriotic thing to do.
